Data Acquisition system for electrostatic probes designed for plasma diagnostics in nuclear fusion and advanced research environments, developed for RFX in Padua.
Each crate manages up to 16 probes, with simultaneous voltage and current acquisition for a total of 32 synchronized channels. 16-bit ADCs provide sampling rates up to 20 MS/s per channel, enabling high-speed analysis of dynamic plasma phenomena.
The system integrates a programmable bias power supply for I-V measurements and automatic characteristic sweeps, with dynamic probe reconfiguration. An architecture featuring per-channel galvanic isolation, dedicated protections, and FPGA real-time control with PTP time synchronization ensures precise timing, safe operation, and seamless integration into experimental infrastructures.
