The FDM-S3 is the third device in the FDM-Sx series: it is a wideband direct-sampling receiver offering up to 24 MHz of bandwidth. It features a so-called Reference Clock Manager Module that allows selection between two reference clocks, a GnssDO (Global navigation satellite system Disciplined Oscillator) or an external 10 MHz signal.
Two versions with different oscillator characteristics are available:
- TCXO version (Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator), with good frequency stability and lower power consumption;
- OCXO version (Oven Controlled Crystal Oscillator), with a higher degree of frequency stability but also higher power consumption.
For the TCXO version the GNSS antenna is not included: the product code to be purchased separately is GNSS-04.
Shipment of the OCXO version may be delayed by one business day due to the oscillator calibration procedure.
Frequency coverage
9 kHz – 108 MHz (above 108 MHz with the optional downconverter, see the user manual for more information).
Antenna connectors
SMA connectors. Two for HF (up to 54 MHz) and one for VHF (up to 108 MHz). One RF-IN connector if the downconverter option is fitted (above 108 MHz).
It has two antenna bias outputs, one for an HF input and one for the VHF input (or for the RF-IN input).
Computer interface
USB 3.0 High-Speed (see the requirements in the user manual).
